Girls Program
Our program specializes in working with girls ages 12-18 with trauma, executive functioning difficulties, depression, anxiety, academic struggles, unhealthy digital habits, and autism spectrum disorders.
Our team provides sophisticated clinical approaches designed to work with neurodiverse students including EMDR, Brainspotting, Neurofeedback, ACT, DBT, and CBT. In addition to individual, group, and family therapy, our girls participate in adventure learning activities, healthy living activities, arts and culture, and community service opportunities.
Program Overview
Healthy Living
Each of our girls has an individual treatment plan to address their unique needs. We work with our girls to develop a healthy body image, develop positive nutritional choices, and an overall active lifestyle. Our adventure learning program offers a variety of recreational and experiential therapy opportunities in our beautiful and vibrant community. Our girls are able to enjoy a variety of fun outdoor activities designed to encourage an interest in nature and an active, balanced lifestyle.
Service
Our girls are involved in a variety of service activities designed to increase their awareness of the world around them and develop a sense of community. We engage in service projects available in our community as well as those developed by our students and mentors. This gives our girls a sense of ownership over the project and helps them develop a lifelong passion and commitment to service.
Arts & Culture
Our girls attend live musical, dance, and theater performances. A local opera company and Utah State University afford many opportunities to expand their cultural horizons. They also attend local art shows and cultural festivals when available. The girls participate in culinary arts activities that educate our students on meal planning, food preparation, and nutrition.
Girls Program Experience
Logan River Academy Girls Program works with young women ages 12-18 with a focus on developing emotional balance in their lives. It is a close-knit program where the girls are engaged in a variety of healthy activities which they help plan. Our treatment approach is aimed to assist our girls in developing skills to better manage emotional volatility, navigate adolescence in positive ways, and to ultimately create healthy and balanced lives. Our students acquire skills to better develop healthy relationships, set appropriate boundaries, and improve self-esteem.
Our program, while specifically designed for girls, provides a co-ed school setting with additional co-ed activities. This provides our students real world experiences in a safe and well-supervised environment. As a result, our students are better prepared for a “co-ed world” when they leave LRA. This supervised interaction with boys in traditional classes allows for a more normal school experience. This environment enables our girls to develop appropriate social skills that can translate to future academic and social success.
Our comfortable living environment supports students’ needs for individualized attention and personal space.
Our girls are housed on one of two dorms on the LRA main campus. Girls dorms are specialized, roomy, well-supervised, and limited in number of students to ensure everyone has access to what ever support they need.
We use the ESSENCE model as our guide to treatment and focus on these core issues:

We develop individualized treatment plans to specifically address the needs that each student has in these seven domains. A phase system provides ongoing feedback for the student, as well as a concrete method to help them to reach their goals.
